Antwerp-based payment service Paybonsai goes into partnership with Apple
"The young Antwerp-based payment services company Paybonsai is partnering with tech giant Apple. This allows it to let its users pay anywhere in the world with Apple Pay. Earlier, it also entered into an agreement with Google Pay. This makes Paybonsai the first bank-independent player in our country to offer both systems, thereby giving payment apps such as Payconiq a run for their money. Paybonsai wants to make payments not only easy, but also sustainable."

Antwerp's Bonsai challenges Payconiq with Apple Pay
"Payment service Bonsai has managed to offer Apple Pay to customers of almost all Belgian banks. Will the Antwerp-based company make Payconiq sweat?
Bonsai can now position itself in Belgium as a provider of Apple Pay, even to consumers who are with a bank that does not offer this payment service, such as Argenta or Crelan. All those customers have to do is install the Bonsai Pay app on their smartphone and link it to their bank account."

With Apple Pay, Antwerp-based payment app Bonsai takes on major competitor Payconiq
"In Belgium, only ING, KBC and BNP Paribas Fortis support the possibility to pay with Apple Pay. For example, if you are a customer of Belfius or Argenta and have an iPhone, it is difficult to pay contactless with your smartphone. Payment app Bonsai changes this via a roundabout route.
